Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily workshop operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives are achieved.
• Develop and implement workshop policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and performance.
• Ensure workshop resources, equipment, tools, and facilities are effectively utilized and maintained.
• Coordinate with service, parts, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure seamless execution of workshop activities.
• Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs related to workshop operations, quality, productivity, and service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, improve turnaround times, and increase customer satisfaction.

The Opportunity

JBT Marel is looking for a Workshop Operations Manager. You will be responsible for leading all workshop operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of repair, rebuild, assembly, and service activities. This role develops and implements operational processes, procedures, and best practices that improve productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.

The position provides leadership for workshop personnel, drives continuous improvement initiatives, manages resources and budgets, and ensures compliance with company standards while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Workshop Operations Leadership

• Lead and oversee daily workshop operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery objectives are achieved.
• Develop and implement workshop policies, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and performance.
• Ensure workshop resources, equipment, tools, and facilities are effectively utilized and maintained.
• Coordinate with service, parts, engineering, and customer support teams to ensure seamless execution of workshop activities.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

• Establish, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workshop operations, quality, productivity, and service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, improve turnaround times, and increase customer satisfaction.
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

Financial & Resource Management

• Manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, overtime, and resource allocation to meet operational objectives.
• Monitor workshop costs and identify opportunities to improve financial performance while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Support forecasting, capacity planning, and strategic operational initiatives.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, environmental requirements, and workplace safety regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the workshop.
• Lead corrective and preventive action efforts to address quality and operational issues.

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, develop, coach, and lead workshop personnel to achieve business and operational goals.
• Implement training and development programs that build technical capability, leadership skills, and succession coverage.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Technical Management, or a related field preferred.
• Proven leadership experience managing workshop, service, manufacturing, repair, or technical operations.
• Strong understanding of operational planning, quality systems, safety programs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive organizational change.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, workshop management tools, and digital performance reporting preferred.

Travel & Location

This is an Onsite role with up to 10% Travel.
