Job summary

Auburn University is seeking motivated temporary labor staff for the summer term to support campus facilities operations in Montgomery, AL. Helpers will assist skilled trades, grounds crews, and custodial teams across maintenance and improvement projects.

Responsibilities include assisting with general tasks, HVAC and electrical support, painting, landscaping, and preparing spaces for occupancy while following safety procedures and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
• Available to work full-time or part-time hours during the summer semester.
• Work may include early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.

• Support HVAC technicians with basic maintenance and equipment handling
• Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation and clean-up
• Assist electricians with minor electrical tasks under supervision
• Provide support to grounds crews, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, debris removal, and outdoor upkeep
• Assist custodial staff with cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing residential and academic spaces for occupancy
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials as needed for facility turnover
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
• Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Complete other duties as assigned by Facilities Management supervisors
