The Role: Working Project Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced, top-level Working Project Supervisor to join our team as you help lead the successful execution of custom home and commercial construction projects throughout Sonoma County — including Santa Rosa, Windsor, and Healdsburg.

You’ll work on-site and be responsible for daily supervision of subcontractors and the Harkey crew, schedule coordination, and quality control, ensuring each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do

• Work hands-on with our Carpenters and Apprentices daily to establish a clear understanding of the task at hand
• Project Oversight & Execution
• Independently supervise day-to-day construction activities in the field
• Serve as the primary liaison between the job site and office, keeping the Project Manager informed of all field issues
• Lead multiple projects from start-up through closeout, including site preparation, temporary utilities, signage, fencing, and inspections
• Ensure construction is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
• Develop and update short- and long-term project schedules (Microsoft Project preferred)
• Manage and communicate daily with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and team members
• Provide clear direction and leadership to crews, subcontractors, and vendors
• Foster a positive, safety-first, team-oriented jobsite culture
• Lead weekly production meetings with site personnel and the internal project team
• Support General Superintendent and Sr. Project Manager in resolving field challenges and maintaining production standards
• Client and Project Interface
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors
• Proactively communicate about schedule, budget, and quality concerns
• Conduct site walkthroughs and coordinate inspections with building departments and third-party consultants
• Maintain permit cards, inspection documentation, and related compliance items
• Field Administration & Technology
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily reports, photos, material deliveries, and labor logs (Procore preferred)
• Track RFIs, submittals, and field changes
• Assist with jobsite safety, including enforcement of company safety policies and IIPP compliance
• Support project budget management through efficient use of rentals and resources

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of superintendent, foreman, or supervisory experience in residential or commercial construction
• Ability to lead projects from foundation to finish
• Strong background in Carpentry: (Framing, Siding, Door & Window Installation, Finish Work, Etc.)
• Strong understanding of building codes, inspections, and safety regulations
• Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record

Preferred

• Experience with custom homes or high-end residential projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, organized, and solutions-oriented approach
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and scheduling software (MS Project)
