Job summary

CT State Community College is seeking a Coordinator of Workforce Transition and Outreach to support admission, enrollment, advising, and reporting for dislocated workers funded by federal, state, or private programs.

The role advocates for workforce transitions from One-Stop Centers, Adult Education, and other partners, and provides data on projected costs for credit and non-credit study plans; strong collaboration across departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field with two or more years of related experience.
• Experience advising students or clients on academic or career pathways.
• Ability to review transcripts to guide program placement.
• Strong communication skills for working with applicants, case managers, and agency partners.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use Banner, Degree Works, CRM, or similar databases.
• Experience preparing reports and coordinating with multiple departments.
• Ability to learn and apply college and funding-agency policies and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal staff and external agencies.
• Experience with ERP software such as Banner/Degree Works/CRM Advise Handshake/Focus2.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cooperative relationships with college staff and faculty across outreach, enrollment, bursars, counseling, financial aid, and placement testing.
• Collaborate with academic areas (faculty, library, tutoring) to support students.
• Provide program advising and retention activities.
• Oversee program administration and reporting.
• Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies as required.
• Participate in committees and meetings, including evenings/weekends.
