YMCA of the East Bay is seeking a Success Specialist to support the Early Educator Apprenticeship Program, coordinating child care, tutoring, transportation, and other services for Head Start participants in Emeryville, CA.
The role focuses on mentoring apprentices, documenting progress, and coordinating with schools, instructors and partners to ensure program success. Evening/weekend availability is required.
Under the direction of the Success Manager, the Specialist contributes to the development and implementation of the on-the-job training and teacher preparation program Including providing support services such as coordinating childcare, tutoring, information and referral and other supports for participants. These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. The Early Educator Apprenticeship Program addresses the shortage of qualified workers in Head Start. Program participants are recruited from among the ranks of Head Start parents and community members offering workers an on-ramp to a career ladder that articulates to the K-12 education system. Apprentices earn college credits and/or degrees that qualify them for advancement in the YMCA Early Childhood Impact program. The Success Specialist provides mentoring and support to the Head Start Apprentices and employees.
