Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) is seeking a Workforce Development (WFD) Instructor – GED to deliver high-quality, competency-based instruction to adult learners preparing for the GED exam. You will align lessons with state standards and workforce readiness goals to support student achievement.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Secondary Education or related field and at least two years of adult teaching experience, and compliance with PA Child Protective Service Laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GED subject instruction: RLA, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, Social Studies.
  • Develop and implement lessons aligned with adult education standards.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction for GED readiness.
  • Maintain attendance, grades and student progress records.
  • Support student engagement, retention and workforce readiness goals.
  • Collaborate with program staff to support student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
