Responsibilities

• Provide employment training, job placement services, and ongoing support to help participants secure and retain meaningful employment.
• Coordinate scheduling and program activities between Wilmington Recovery Café and Newark Recovery Hub locations.
• Maintain compassionate, participant-centered engagement and track progress toward employment and recovery goals.
• Utilize recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered practices in all interactions.

Job description

The Workforce Development Specialist will support members of the Recovery Cafe who are in recovery from addiction, homelessness, and/or mental health challenges by providing employment training, job placement services, and ongoing support to enhance their ability to secure and retain meaningful employment. This job role is crucial in helping individuals rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency through meaningful employment, playing a pivotal role in their long-term recovery and success.

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with responsibilities split between Wilmington Recovery Café and Newark Recovery Hub locations. Occasional schedule adjustments, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, may be required to meet program, participant, or organizational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, employment services, peer support, or a related field.
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and the unique barriers to employment experienced by individuals in recovery from substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to engage, motivate, and support individuals using a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification through the Delaware Certification Board is strongly preferred.
• Employees who are not currently CPRS certified will be expected to obtain CPRS certification once they become eligible under Delaware Certification Board requirements and within a timeframe established by Impact Life. • Experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, mental health conditions, homelessness, or other barriers to employment.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and empower individuals toward achieving employment and recovery goals
