Job summary

DMOS is seeking a full-time Workers' Compensation Intake Specialist for our West Des Moines office. The role supports the Workers' Comp Department with email/fax processing, data labeling, and workflow coordination from 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of Workers' Compensation intake or medical records experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a professional demeanor. This is a full-time in-office position in Des Moines metro.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better required.
• 1 year experience in Workers' Compensation Intake preferred.
• 1 year experience in Medical Records preferred.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and process-driven skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Process inbound emails and faxes for the Workers' Comp Department, distributing, importing, indexing and labeling information to the appropriate team member.
• Coordinate Workers' Comp communications with the appropriate party for proper handling.
• Handle computer-based tasks and frequent professional phone communication with key parties.

Description

The Workers' Compensation team is evolving here at DMOS to better serve our patients needs when it comes to workplace orthopaedic injuries! As we have continued to grow, specialization of tasks and duties has been highlighted as an opportunity to streamline services for injured workers, insurance adjusters, and physicians. To support our team, we are seeking an individual to that has the desire to grow their career in Workers' Compensation, is highly organized, and can multi-task a variety of communication outlets. This is a full-time (40-hr) position located at our West Des Moines office with hours 8am-5pm (Monday - Friday).

Here’s What You Can Expect

• Management and processing all inbound emails and faxes to the Workers' Comp Department and distributing, importing, indexing and labeling received information to appropriate team member
• Facilitate Workers' Comp communication needs to the appropriate party for proper handling
• Anticipate prolonged computer-based tasks alongside frequent, professional phone communication with key parties

• Prior experience in healthcare administration role, medical records management, and/or workers' compensation intake, preferred
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and process-driven skills
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in a professional manner with individuals with varying backgrounds
