Job summary

Liu Hutton, a workers' compensation defense firm in Long Beach, CA, seeks an attorney to defend employers and insurers with a team-oriented culture.

You will manage a defense caseload, handle depositions, and attend MSCs and hearings while providing strategic guidance and negotiating settlements. This role emphasizes collaboration, experience, and aggressive, proactive case handling.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license, in good standing.
• 3+ years of California workers' compensation defense experience.
• Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and WCAB procedures.
• Excellent deposition, negotiation, and litigation skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload while still working well as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and case-management abilities.
• Aggressive and proactive case handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own workers' compensation defense caseload, taking and defending depositions, and appearing at MSCs, lien conferences, hearings, and trials.
• Provide strategic advice and litigation guidance to employers, insurers, and TPAs we represent, and negotiate favorable settlements on their behalf.
• Work closely with our experienced attorneys and support staff in a genuinely team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

You'll manage your own workers' compensation defense caseload, taking and defending depositions, and appearing at MSCs, lien conferences, hearings, and trials. You'll provide strategic advice and litigation guidance to the employers, insurance carriers, and TPAs we represent, and negotiate favorable settlements on their behalf. Throughout, you'll work closely with our experienced attorneys and support staff in a genuinely team-oriented environment.
