Job summary

Sedgwick in Alabama is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Team Lead to supervise multiple examiner teams and provide jurisdictional guidance across DE, IL, LA, MO, NJ, OK, TN, TX. You will adjudicate complex claims, assess subrogation opportunities, and ensure client service standards are met.

Qualifications

• Analyze complex or technically difficult workers compensation claims to determine benefits.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and negotiate settlements.
• Provide backup for team lead when out of the office.

Responsibilities

• Supervises multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for workers compensation claims.
• Identifies trends, problems and issues; advises management and coordinates with projects for improvements.
• Provides technical/jurisdictional direction to examiner reports on claims adjudication.
• Compiles reviews and analyzes management reports and takes appropriate action.
• Performs quality review on claims in compliance with audit requirements and quality standards.
• Acts as second level of appeal for client and claimant issues; implements final dispositions.
• Reviews reserve amounts on high-cost claims and claims beyond examiner authority.
• Maintains client contact and promotes professional relationships; provides written updates on specific claims as requested.
