What’s in Store
Davies Claims North America is looking for an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager to join our growing team! In this role, you will work closely with Senior Management to oversee the quality and resolution of workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, effective cost containment, and high-quality customer service. This position involves leading a team of claims supervisors, adjusters, adjuster trainees, and team assistants while monitoring claim performance and implementing the best practices to optimize outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
This role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Lakewood Ranch, FL. There may be remote opportunities for well-qualified Florida residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting individual meetings with supervisors and employees to facilitate their professional development
- Directing and evaluating supervisor performance through management reports
- Provide oversight to ensure that all benchmarks, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs), are consistently met
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of claims to excess carriers, adhering to all requirements to avoid coverage issues
- Maintaining a closing ratio of 97% for claims
- Reviewing and approving reserve requests beyond the supervisory level
- Organizing and leading supervisor meetings with co-managers
- Participating in roundtable discussions and monitoring team meetings
- Ensuring all client profiles are kept up to date
- Attending client meetings as needed
- Assisting with conducting internal branch audits
- Addressing issues related to FMLA, disability, and probation status in coordination with senior management and HR
- Contributing to proposal development and presentations for new business opportunities as requested
- Carrying out responsibilities including hiring, conducting performance evaluations, & managing budgets
- Carrying out other duties as assigned or requested by Senior Management
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- 5+ years of experience handling and settling Workers’ Compensation claims, including Medical Only, Lost Time/Indemnity, and Legal/Litigation
- Previous experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role
- Possess and maintain FL-All Lines Adjuster or Workers’ Compensation License
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other various business-related software programs
- College degree and/or professional designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU, AIM, CWCL, etc. preferred
- Self-motivated, reliable, and proactive, consistently following through on tasks and responsibilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, effectively engaging with diverse audiences in a timely manner
- Strong time management abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities
- Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, along with excellent organization and documentation capabilities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to make decisions and solve problems efficiently
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
- Comfortable engaging with individuals at all levels within an organization
- Proven ability to mentor and train team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
