Job summary

Morgan & Morgan in Nashville seeks an Attorney to join the growing Workers' Compensation department. The Attorney will handle a heavy and complex caseload from pre-litigation through trial, working closely with experienced colleagues to protect client interests.

You will manage pre-suit activities, draft and file pleadings, coordinate with experts, and represent clients at depositions, mediations, and hearings as needed.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a fully accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with State Bar.
• Minimum 2+ years of workers compensation experience.
• Wage-and-hour claims experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage a high volume of pre-litigation and litigation cases.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Self-starter driven by long-term career goals.
• Superior writing and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day handling of cases from pre-litigation to litigation.
• Mostly handling the pre-suit side and assisting senior attorneys once the claim files suit.
• Drafting and filing of litigation documents including pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and motions.
• Guide clients through the case process.
• Interact with expert witnesses including conferences and drafting of reports and affidavits.
• Attend and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
