Collaboration with colleagues and clients is essential to provide effective coverage analyses and risk assessments. The ideal candidate is a Florida-licensed attorney (good standing) with 0–3 years of experience, strong research and writing

Qualifications

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Workers' Compensation Attorney role based in the Greater Orlando area. The attorney will manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters, including evaluating claims, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and providing coverage and exposure analyses for clients. Daily responsibilities include appearing at depositions, mediations, pre-trial conferences, and hearings, as well as negotiating settlements and advising clients on strategy and risk. The attorney will collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and clients to prepare cases effectively, maintain timely communication, and ensure compliance with firm and court procedures. The role also involves staying current with Florida workers' compensation statutes, case law, and regulatory changes that affect client matters.

Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice law in Florida, in good standing with the Florida Bar; prior workers' compensation or insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, including experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
  • Litigation skills such as deposition practice, hearing and mediation preparation, oral advocacy, and negotiation of settlements.
  • Knowledge of Florida workers' compensation laws, procedures, and related insurance defense principles.
  • Effective communication and client service skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and maintain professional relationships.
  • Organizational and case management abilities, including prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing a high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment in Greater Orlando and to mentor or support colleagues as needed.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; prior experience in medical malpractice, premises liability, automobile negligence, or construction litigation is a plus.

  • Will consider candidates who sat for July 2026 Bar Exam and are set to be licensed in September 2026
