Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Texas is seeking a Risk Management Specialist III (Workers’ Compensation Coordinator) to develop and manage the hospital’s workers’ compensation program. You will oversee medical and vocational case management, loss controls, and liaison with SORM adjusters.

You will guide claim handling, ensure documentation, and implement return-to-work plans while coordinating with hospital departments and safety officers to minimize risk and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Texas Workers’ Compensation Act and related risk management requirements.
• Experience with risk management program development and claims handling.
• Ability to train others and maintain organized records.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the hospital’s workers’ compensation program.
• Provides case management for workers’ compensation claimants.
• Administers Return to Work program and coordinates temporary placements.
• Performs program reviews to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
