Hennessy & Roach, P.C. seeks an attorney to defend Workers' Compensation cases in Illinois and Missouri, joining our St. Louis office.

The role involves gathering medical evidence, taking depositions, drafting pleadings, and litigating before workers' compensation judges, representing employers or insurers at hearings and mediations. The ideal candidate will hold a J.D. and a Missouri or Illinois bar license, possess solid legal research and writing skills, and demonstrate strong organizational

J.D. and Missouri or Illinois bar license.
In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Strong legal research techniques and terminology.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must meet deadlines under pressure and work well in a team.
Firm and client confidentiality required.

Responsibilities

Defend Workers' Compensation cases in Illinois and Missouri.
Gather medical evidence and records.
Take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts and others.
Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions and other documents.
Litigate before a workers' compensation judge or referee.
Represent employer or insurer at hearings, trials, depositions, mediations and other proceedings.
Communicate with claims representatives.
Monitor loss run reports for trends and alert management.
