Job summary

CCMSI is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Representative I to join our St. Louis team. This role manages a full caseload across multiple accounts, primarily in Missouri, with potential Illinois work.

Onsite training is required for 30 days, then a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three remote days. The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of WC claims experience, strong communication, and organizational skills, and a commitment to quality client service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience or related insurance industry experience.
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation claim handling practices and claim life cycle management.
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload of moderate-complexity claims.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
• Reliable and predictable attendance during established business hours.
• Experience handling Missouri workers' compensation claims.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and adjust workers compensation claims in accordance with established claims handling procedures using CCMSI guidelines and direct supervision.
• Review medical, legal and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to the ongoing workers compensation claims. Negotiate any disputed bills for resolution.
• Authorize and make payment of workers compensation claims utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within settlement authority.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys in accordance with client’s authorization.
• Assist in selection and supervision of defense attorneys.
• Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
• Prepare reports detailing claims, payments and reserves.
• Provide reports and monitor files, as required by excess insurers.
• Compliance with Service Commitments as established by team.
• Delivery of quality claim service to clients.
