Job summary

Accelevation LLC is seeking a Workers' Compensation Program Manager to own day-to-day administration of claims with emphasis on Ohio BWC and multi-state coverage. You will coordinate with Operations, Safety, HR, Legal, and providers to drive timely reporting, reserve oversight, and cost containment while improving return-to-work outcomes.

  • Direct experience managing Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) claims required.
  • Multi-state workers' compensation experience preferred.
  • Experience with carriers, TPAs, brokers, legal counsel, medical providers, and claims partners preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similar experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or higher in Business Administration, Insurance, HR, Nursing, Risk Management, or related field preferred.

  • Coordinate return-to-work and transitional-duty programs, including restriction reviews and formal offers.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, confidential, and compliant claim files.
  • Lead regular reviews of open and legacy claims and establish action plans for resolution.
  • Review reserves, payments, and total incurred costs to ensure alignment with strategy.
  • Identify barriers that increase duration, cost, or complexity of claims.
  • Evaluate settlement opportunities and subrogation opportunities.
  • Support administration of auto liability, general liability, and other insurance-related claims.

Your Impact

As the Workers' Compensation Program Manager, you will own the day-to-day administration and performance of Accelevation's workers' compensation program, with a significant focus on Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) claims while supporting claims across additional states where Accelevation operates. You will serve as the primary point of coordination between injured employees, Operations, Safety, Human Resources, Legal, medical providers, brokers, carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and workers' compensation partners. Your work will directly influence claim outcomes, return-to-work success, cost containment, regulatory compliance, and overall program effectiveness. This role is accountable for driving timely claim resolution through disciplined follow-up, clear communication, strong documentation, reserve oversight, and proactive claim management while providing valuable claim insights to operational leadership.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Claims Management
    • Serve as the primary administrator for workers' compensation claims in Ohio and other states where Accelevation operates
    • Ensure claims are reported promptly, accurately, and in compliance with applicable requirements
    • Maintain regular communication with injured employees, management, HR, Safety, medical providers, carriers, TPAs, and legal partners
    • Actively manage claim activity including treatment status, work restrictions, benefits, wage information, documentation, deadlines, and required follow-up actions
    • Coordinate return-to-work and transitional-duty programs, including restriction reviews, suitable-duty identification, formal offers, and employee communication
    • Maintain complete, accurate, confidential, and compliant claim files
  • Claim Strategy & Cost Control
    • Lead regular reviews of open and legacy claims and establish clear action plans for resolution
    • Review reserves, payments, and total incurred costs to ensure alignment with claim strategy and status
    • Identify and address barriers that increase claim duration, cost, or complexity
    • Evaluate settlement opportunities, claim closure strategies, reimbursement potential, and subrogation opportunities
    • Support administration of auto liability, general liability, property, and other insurance-related claims as assigned
    • Partner with claims professionals and legal teams to support effective claim outcomes
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Maintain dashboards and reporting for claim inventory, aging, reserves, return-to-work status, reporting compliance, and claim costs
    • Analyze claim data and trends to identify opportunities for cost control and improved outcomes
    • Provide concise and actionable updates to leadership regarding claim performance, financial exposure, and recommended actions
    • Support insurance renewals and broker reviews through validation of loss runs, claim summaries, exposure data, and related reporting
  • Program Coordination & Improvement
    • Collaborate closely with Operations, Safety, HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, carriers, brokers, TPAs, and medical providers
    • Escalate high-exposure, litigated, delayed, or contested claims with clear recommendations and action plans
    • Develop procedures, training materials, and tools that improve claim visibility, accountability, consistency, and follow-through
    • Share claim trend data with Safety and Operations teams to support incident-prevention and corrective-action initiatives
    • Support continuous improvement of claim management processes and program effectiveness
Qualifications

  • Direct experience managing Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) claims required

  • Experience working with carriers, TPAs, brokers, legal counsel, medical providers, and claims partners
  • Manufacturing, industrial, construction, field services, or similar experience strongly preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Human Resources, Nursing, Risk Management, or a related field preferred
  • Relevant workers' compensation, insurance, or claims management certifications are a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of the workers' compensation claim lifecycle, including intake, compensability, medical management, indemnity, litigation, settlement, and closure
  • Understanding of reserves, incurred costs, loss development, and cost containment practices
  • Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping requirements and key performance indicators such as TRIR, DART, and EMR
  • Ability to analyze claim notes, medical records, work status reports, claims data, and loss runs
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
  • Experience with claims management systems, HRIS platforms, and document management systems preferred
  • Experience supporting wrap-up programs (CCIP/OCIP) preferred
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and business judgment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment and requires regular use of computers, phones, and business software systems. The role requires frequent communication with employees, operational leaders, medical providers, insurance partners, and external stakeholders. Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, reviewing documentation, preparing reports, and participating in meetings. Employees may occasionally stand, walk, and move throughout office and operational environments.
