The Solution Architect I Role

The Solution Architect I applies deep domain, product, industry, and solution expertise to craft compelling solutions that showcase our value, enhancing our sales and renewal rates.

This client-facing role collaborates with Sales throughout the sales process—from initial contact to proposal, negotiations, and hand-off to delivery teams. Responsibilities include developing tailored solutions, educating clients on technical aspects, conducting demos, and staying updated on industry trends and competitors. Solution Architects also provide valuable market feedback to inform product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise in domain products and Alight’s capabilities, articulating value propositions and differentiators.
• Work with delivery leaders to stay connected to operations and share market insights.
• Support sales strategies, lead solution scoping for complex deals, and develop tailored proposals.
• Participate in client meetings, answer technical questions, and personalize solutions based on client needs.
• Conduct solution demonstrations that tell a story and clearly document solutions throughout the sales process.
• Assist in contract negotiations, scope development, and collaboration with other architects on multi-solution deals.

RFP and Other Support

• Review and contribute to RFP responses, develop client-specific models, and manage follow-ups.
• Provide insights to product teams and coordinate with stakeholders to incorporate latest developments into sales materials.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5-10 years of experience in domain areas or related roles.
• Deep knowledge of HCM, Financials, cloud, and delivery models, with a proven track record applying this expertise.
• Strong communication, client relationship, and team-building skills.
• Willingness to travel 25-50% as needed.
• Workday HCM or Financials Suite expertise, with certifications preferred.

Compensation
