The Solution Architect I applies deep domain, product, industry, and solution expertise to create compelling solutions, increasing our win and renewal rate during sales processes. This client-facing role collaborates with Sales through all sales stages, from initial meetings to proposal, demonstrations, and hand-off to delivery teams. The architect also stays current on industry trends, competitors, and product capabilities, providing market feedback to inform our roadmap.

The Role
Domain expertise
  • Maintain expertise in domain products/services like Workday and Alight’s capabilities. Communicate Alight’s value and differentiators.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Leaders to stay connected to operations and share market insights.
  • Understand cross-functional impacts within the Workday platforms.
Sales process
  • Work with sales teams to develop and inform sales strategies for complex deals.
  • Lead discovery and scope for large or complex solutions.
  • Develop solution scope, tailor materials, conduct demos, and support negotiations.
  • Engage in sales meetings, answer technical questions, and personalize solutions.
  • Document solutions clearly for transparency and knowledge transfer.
RFP support
  • Review and contribute to RFP responses, create client-specific descriptions, and follow up on questions.
Other responsibilities
  • Provide feedback to product owners, coordinate with business leaders, and ensure solutions reflect latest developments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep knowledge of HCM, Financials, cloud, and compliance.
  • Experience in client delivery or sales applying domain expertise.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel 25-50%.
  • Workday HCM or Financials expertise and certifications preferred.
