Description
The Business Intelligence Architect will lead the development of Shield Technology Partners' centralized data and analytics platform, enabling smarter decision-making across Shield and its MSP partners. This role will own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable dashboards, data models, and system integrations that drive real-time visibility across finance, operations, people, and M&A activity.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complexity into clarity, enjoys building robust systems from the ground up, and can partner with executive leaders to deliver insights that move the business forward. The right candidate will be equally comfortable working in the weeds of ETL pipelines and data schemas as they are presenting high-level metrics to Shield's leadership and partners.
Key Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Shield's centralized data and analytics architecture, including schema design, ETL processes, and data modeling. Build and maintain executive-level dashboards that provide clear, real-time insights across key business areas such as finance, operations, people, and M&A. Integrate and normalize data from multiple platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, UKG, PSA systems) to deliver a unified, accurate reporting structure. Partner with technology leadership to ensure a scalable, secure, and high-performing analytics infrastructure. Develop reporting and visualization tools that empower Shield's leadership team and MSP partners to make informed, data-driven decisions. Support local partner businesses in building custom dashboards within their own PSA platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with Shield-wide metrics. Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accessibility at all levels of the organization. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
10+ years of experience in data architecture, business intelligence, or analytics roles. Proven success building and scaling centralized analytics platforms across multi-entity organizations. Deep understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent). Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud-based data environments (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift). Experience integrating data from enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, UKG, and PSA systems. Ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights and dashboards. Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred
Experience supporting analytics in roll-up or buy-and-build environments. Familiarity with private equity reporting requirements and KPIs. Prior experience with M&A data integration and operational reporting. Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field required. Master's degree in a related field is a plus. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau/Power BI Certification, AWS/GCP Data Engineering certifications) are strongly preferred. Proven experience in operations roles within the IT Managed Services space.
