Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Work from Home
Note: This is a W2 contract position – C2C and third-party candidates will NOT be considered.
The Senior Project Manager will lead a project to implement Workday Adaptive. The Senior Project Manager drives the delivery of the project through advanced project management techniques and methodologies, aligned with PMI best practices. The Project Manager may have responsibility to lead, coach, and mentor other team members, functional leaders, and vendors where necessary to help drive project outcomes.
Position Qualifications:
- 7–10 years of senior project management experience using PMI guidelines, with demonstrated experience managing/leading projects from initiation through closure.
- Experience working with Workday Adaptive.
- Ability to partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to define project objectives and business cases.
- Ability to take ownership for delivering project objectives and deliverables, driving project execution to meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Ability to establish project governance structures and define processes for reporting, review, and approval of project objectives and deliverables.
- Familiarity with working in a regulated environment (GxP), including ensuring audit preparation/documentation is completed and compliant, and practical knowledge of core Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) concepts and principles (e.g., Agile, work breakdown structure, waterfall planning).
- Experience managing projects that include IT software development activities following the traditional Software Development Life Cycle (design, development, testing, UAT, deployment activities).
- Experience managing projects with IT components delivered using various methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid (practical experience, not just training, certification, or theory).
- Ability to liaise between IT, business teams, and multiple vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Experience with executive-level communications, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Project).
- Skills in establishing detailed definitions of scope, schedule, resources, and budget using standard project management processes, tools, and templates (MS Project/SharePoint, etc.).
- Experience in establishing various management plans for key knowledge areas, such as Schedule, Scope, Resources, Finance/Budget, Stakeholder, Risk/Issue, etc.
- Experience in establishing and ensuring adherence to governance/controls for project change control and project status/progress reporting.
- Proactivity in identifying and collaboratively addressing risks and issues.
- Ability to engage project teams and stakeholder communities/sponsorship to address risks and issues in a timely manner.
- Experience working with diverse, cross-functional, and virtual teams and environments.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple activities and prioritize workloads to optimize project delivery.
- Ability to lead effective meetings/workshops to achieve stated outcomes and drive decisions, including creating and adhering to meeting objectives and agendas, and timely distribution of minutes and follow-up actions.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- A minimum of a BS in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degree that provides foundational skills for managing projects; PMP or other PMI certification is highly desirable.
