Job summary

Everforth TopBloc is hiring a Workday Payroll Consultant I to design, configure, test, and implement payroll solutions for diverse clients. You will work closely with clients to align payroll processes with business objectives and resolve issues as they arise.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, strong Excel skills, and 1+ years of client-facing experience. Travel to client sites (30-50%) is expected, with opportunities for Workday certification and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Excel functions/macros for data manipulation.
• 1+ years client interfacing or consulting experience preferred.
• Experience in payroll processing and software implementations preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, test, and implement Workday Payroll solutions for clients.
• Define and build payroll processes aligned with client objectives.
• Resolve payroll issues directly with clients as they arise.
• Participate in internal training and share knowledge with team.
• Attend Workday payroll training and pursue Workday certification.

Location - Chicago, IL (Must reside 45 miles or less within Chicago city limits)

Mandatory Workday In Office Training Dates: 9/28/2026 - 10/30/2026 (Monday - Friday)

Requirements (What We're Looking For):

• Bachelor's degree, preferable in Human Resources, Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, Computer Engineering, or related IT/Business discipline; or equivalent experience (required)
• Experience with manipulating data in Microsoft Excel using functions and/or macros (required)
• 1+ years client interfacing or consulting experience (preferred)
• Previous software implementation experience (preferred)
• 1+ years experience running, processing, auditing payroll (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with clients and co-workers in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust
• Good problem solver with ability to consider alternative and diverse perspectives
• Ability to travel 30-50%

Responsibilities (What You'll Do):

• Work directly with clients to design, configure, test, and implement Workday Payroll solutions across multiple industries to meet, enhance and optimize the client’s business needs
• Define, build and implement Payroll processes and structure, in alignment with client’s business objectives and needs, enhancing clients’ experience and value of the Workday software
• Work directly with clients, solving Workday Payroll issues as they arise
• Actively participate in internal training updates and opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization
• Attend Workday Payroll training and become Workday certified
• Travel 30%-50% at client request

Salary & Compensation:

The hiring base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Everforth TopBloc, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hiring range salary is $60,000 - $70,000.
