Workday Payroll
  • Configure and maintain payroll earnings, deductions, pay components, calculation rules, eligibility, payroll inputs, pay groups, period schedules, run categories, and related business processes.
  • Investigate gross-to-net calculation issues, retroactive changes, effective-date conflicts, proration, deduction behavior, arrears, and differences between expected and actual payroll results.
  • Support regular, off-cycle, adjustment, bonus, commission, termination, and other approved payroll scenarios from a systems perspective.
  • Develop and maintain pre-payroll audits, exception reporting, reconciliation controls, costing dependencies, accounting outputs, and downstream finance interfaces.
  • Support quarter-end and year-end system readiness, vendor updates, reporting validation, and testing.
Time Tracking and Absence

  • Investigate balance discrepancies, accrual timing, eligibility changes, adjustments, carryover, negative balances, cancellations, and leave-related impacts on time and pay.
Reporting, Integrations, and Data
  • Build advanced reports, calculated fields, dashboards, audit reports, and exception reporting for Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.
  • Own functional requirements, mappings, eligibility, effective-date handling, control totals, and acceptance testing for assigned payroll, time, absence, banking, benefits, tax-service, and finance interfaces.
  • Monitor integration events and investigate rejected transactions, missing records, duplicate results, and timing differences before payroll deadlines.
  • Prepare and execute controlled EIB and supported mass data changes, validating templates, identifiers, dates, totals, errors, and post-load results.
  • Support acquisitions, new entities, pay groups, plan changes, conversions, and migrations through assessment, configuration, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
Production Support and Change Delivery
  • Own intake, triage, research, resolution, and closure of Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking cases.
  • Distinguish configuration, data, security, integration, policy, and user-knowledge issues and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Lead requirements discovery, evaluate design options, document solutions, coordinate testing, and support controlled deployments.
  • Partner with internal technical resources and external specialists for advanced integration or development needs while retaining functional ownership.
  • Lead user training, demonstrations, workshops, and creation of practical process documentation and job aids.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience.
  • At least five years of relevant payroll systems or HRIS experience, including at least three years of hands-on Workday configuration and production support with independent delivery responsibility.
  • Strong hands-on Workday Payroll configuration experience and hands-on configuration experience in Absence or Time Tracking, with demonstrated understanding across all three domains.
