You will guide clients through best practices, refine configurations, and ensure compliant, smooth payroll operations across their Workday landscape, delivering precise, proactive service and measurable client outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant with a strong background in US and Canadian Payroll configuration and support. You will play a key role in implementing, optimizing, and supporting Workday Payroll solutions for our clients. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor—guiding clients through best practices, helping them enhance their existing configurations, and ensuring smooth, compliant payroll operations across their Workday landscape. Responsibilities

• Lead or support the deployment, configuration, and post-implementation support of Workday Payroll solutions, with a focus on Canadian and US Payroll.
• Partner with client Payroll leads to analyze, enhance, and expand existing Payroll configurations and business processes.
• Manage functional adjustments and configuration updates while evaluating downstream impacts across modules.
• Support clients in troubleshooting payroll issues and optimizing system performance.
• Collaborate closely with internal and client teams across Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking to ensure seamless integrations and accurate processing.
• Prioritize and respond to client cases, maintaining a high level of service delivery.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Workday Payroll configuration, including Canadian Payroll.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and reporting in the Canadian and US context.
• Proven ability to review, analyze, and refine existing payroll configurations and processes.
• Proficiency in Workday modules related to Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and time management abilities with a proven record of meeting deliverables.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to see the broader business context.
• Workday Certification required.

Qualification and Preferred Skills

• College or University Degree in HR or Information Systems.
• Exposure to global payroll implementations beyond the US/Canada.
• Familiarity with Workday reporting tools and business process configuration.
• Explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms.
• Align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality.
• Proactively drive process improvements.
• Comfortable with video calls and proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.

As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in the US/Canada, so long as you are authorised to work in the country you reside in without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
