Job summary

Herschend Family Entertainment seeks a Workday Financials Technical Lead to own the day-to-day functional ownership and optimization of the Workday Financial Management platform. You will partner with Finance leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and well-integrated financial systems across the enterprise.

You will manage data governance, security, integrations (EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors), and biannual release coordination, while guiding testing, configurations, and stakeholder

Responsibilities

• Own Workday Financial Management modules and ensure data governance and data flow design.
• Support daily operations and evolving business requirements with Finance and Accounting.
• Manage and prioritize the Workday Financials roadmap and align enhancements with business needs.
• Gather and document business requirements and translate into functional configurations.
• Maintain documentation including BRDs, process flows, and configuration decisions.
• Coordinate testing and release activities for biannual Workday releases and major changes.
• Define and maintain data governance standards and security models.
• Ensure data integrity across Workday and downstream systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Workday Financials Technical Lead is responsible for the day-to-day functional ownership and optimization of the organization’s Workday Financial Management platform. Reporting through the Technology organization and partnering closely with Finance and Accounting leadership, this role ensures Workday effectively supports financial operations, system enhancements, and ongoing business needs. This role ensures Workday operates as a scalable, secure, and well-integrated enterprise system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Platform Ownership & Architecture

• Serve as thetechnicalowner and subject matter expert for Workday Financial Management modules, partnering with Finance stakeholders to define data governance and data flow design.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to support daily operations and evolving business requirements.
• Manage and prioritize the Workday Financials roadmap, aligning enhancements with business needs.
• Gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional system configurations.
• Maintain documentation including business requirements, process flows, and configuration decisions.

Technical Support & Engineering

• Troubleshoot functional issues and partner with technical teams or vendors to resolve system problems.
• Ensure system configurations align with finance processes, internal controls, and governance standards.
• Provide user guidance and support to drive adoption and consistent system usage.
• Coordinate with internal technology teams, IT support, and external partners as needed.

Testing, Releases, and Change Management

• Own integration testing strategy and validate data integrity across systems.
• Coordinate testing and release activities related to Workday biannual releases, or major changes.
• Manage release impact analysis for integrations and security. Ensure technical impacts of system updates and changes are properly validated and communicated.

Integrations, Data & Security

• Own Workday integration ecosystem: EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Define and maintain data models and data flow diagrams.
• Define and maintain data governance standards.
• Manage Workday security model (role-based, domain security).
• Manage audit and compliance requirements.
• Partner with Finance to ensure data consistency across Workday and from Workday to downstream systems.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• 5-10years of experience supporting enterprise systems, preferably in Finance or Accounting environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting Workday Financials in a functional lead, analyst, or product owner role.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes and financial system controls.
• Experience with Workday business process configuration, security roles, and system functionality.
• Experience supporting system testing, releases, and production environments.
• Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business terms and present solutions in a user-friendly language.
• Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors), APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Experience supporting post-implementation Workday environments.
• Experience working with Workday AMS partners or consultants.
• Familiarity with Workday integrations and reporting.
• Workday Financials certification.
• Background working directly with Finance or Accounting teams.
