Job summary

Remote is seeking a Workday Financials Senior Consultant to lead implementation workstreams for customers, projects, and assets, delivering effective financial solutions for US clients. You will translate business requirements into practical Workday configurations, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior consultants in a primarily remote environment.

You will guide testing, compile documentation, and present progress to clients and PMO.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Workday Financials Senior Consultant based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Senior Consultant to lead implementation workstreams and deliver effective financial management solutions for clients. In this role, you will focus on Workday Customers, Projects, and Assets, using your functional expertise to translate business requirements into practical system configurations and processes. You will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, project managers, data specialists, and other workstream leads to ensure successful implementation delivery. Beyond your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior consultants, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and help drive best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Your contributions will support high-quality system implementations, streamlined financial processes, and improved client outcomes. Accountabilities:

• Lead and manage Workday Financials implementation workstreams covering Customers, Projects, and Assets, ensuring solutions align with client business requirements and project objectives.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to financial processes, translating them into effective Workday solutions.
• Guide functional configuration and implementation activities within the relevant Workday Financials modules, ensuring consistency with established best practices.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute test plans to validate system functionality, identify issues, and ensure solutions meet documented business requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business process specifications, configuration documentation, testing materials, and end-user training resources.
• Coach and mentor less experienced Workday-certified consultants, sharing functional expertise, implementation knowledge, and professional best practices.
• Prepare and deliver clear, persuasive presentations to stakeholders, explaining proposed solutions, implementation decisions, and project progress.
• Work closely with project management office (PMO) resources, other functional workstream leads, data leads, and technical teams to coordinate dependencies and maintain project alignment.
• Facilitate communication between client teams and implementation resources, adapting communication approaches to different stakeholder needs and levels of technical expertise.
• Identify implementation challenges, support issue resolution, and recommend improvements to enhance solution quality and delivery efficiency.
• Contribute to project planning, workstream coordination, and continuous improvement throughout the implementation lifecycle.
• Participate in occasional on-site client activities as required while maintaining effective collaboration in a primarily remote working environment.

Requirements:

• Mandatory Workday certification: Applicants must hold an active or otherwise applicable Workday certification in at least one of the following areas: Budgets, Customers, or Projects. Candidates without certification in one of these specified areas should not apply.
• At least 4 years of Workday implementation consulting experience, with demonstrated involvement in enterprise system implementations.
• At least 2 years of experience leading workstreams related to Workday Customers, Projects, and Assets.
• Strong functional knowledge of Workday Financials and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical implementation solutions.
• Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing client requirements, supporting functional configuration, and validating solutions through structured testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, project teams, and senior stakeholders.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, influence decisions, and build stakeholder confidence.
• Previous coaching or mentoring experience, with the ability to support the development of less experienced consultants and promote knowledge sharing.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workstream responsibilities, documentation, and competing priorities.
• A collaborative working style and the ability to coordinate effectively with PMO teams, other workstream leads, data specialists, and client resources.
• Flexibility in communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to adapt to different audiences, working styles, and client needs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving implementation challenges and maintaining delivery quality.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining engaged with the wider implementation team.
• Willingness to attend infrequent on-site client meetings or project activities when necessary.
