The Opportunity

The Workday Financials E2E Lead is responsible for serving as MetLife’s internal Workday Financials subject matter expert, driving the design, configuration, optimization, and continuous evolution of the Workday Financials platform across the enterprise. Guided by our purpose – a lways with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to play a critical leadership role in MetLife’s ERP Modernization journey as we transition from PeopleSoft to Workday Financials.

As the Workday Financials expert in MetLife, this role will partner closely with business stakeholders, implementation partners, & other technology teams to architect scalable end-to-end solutions that will enable the business to transform. During the ERP Modernization program, this leader will provide deep expertise across Workday Financials, helping to drive configuration decisions, resolve complex issues, and support critical cross-functional Workday platform areas (ie: Reporting, Integrations, Security, Extend). Following each market Go-Live, the role will then transition to lead ongoing solution design, functional optimization, & strategic enhancements to maximize the value of MetLife’s investment in Workday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, configuration, & deployment of solutions across all Workday Financials modules, ensuring alignment with business & IT objectives.
  • Create scalable solutions by partnering with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, & other business stakeholders to translate business requirements into Workday capabilities.
  • Oversee Workday Financials configuration activities during the ERP Modernization program, providing expert guidance on design decisions, issue resolution, testing support, risk mitigation, and deployment readiness activities.
  • Manage complex cross-functional platform needs that span across Workday Financials, Reporting, Security, Integrations, Extend, & Prism.
  • Develop & maintain Workday Financials solution standards, governance processes, and roadmaps that drive business value.
  • Coordinate with implementation partners, technical & business teams, to deliver enhancements, prioritize initiatives, troubleshoot critical issues, and continuously improve the user experience for our customers.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex Workday Financials issues, providing functional and solution leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, and optimization across the Workday ecosystem.
  • Mentor & guide internal team members while promoting Workday best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience, with demonstrated experience delivering enterprise financial technology solutions with 8+ years of overall experience.
  • Deep expertise in Workday Financials, including the ability to architect, configure, & support end-to-end solutions across multiple Workday Financials modules (Accounting/Accounting Center, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Expenses, Assets, Banking, Financial Reporting).
  • Proficiency leveraging Workday AI-enabled tools & technologies to enhance productivity & operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders, influence decision making, & translate complex business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, & leadership skills with the ability to manage ambiguity & resolve complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 9+ years of experience delivering enterprise Finance technology solutions, including experience in Workday Financials.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic platform enhancements, operating model improvements, & continuous optimization efforts.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, & influencing skills with a track record of effectively partnering with business & technology teams.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 - $145,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
