The Workday Adaptive Planning Senior Candidate is a hands‑on configuration and build role within our EPM delivery practice. Working closely with an Engagement Lead, this candidate owns the technical construction of client Adaptive environments — from security and tenant setup through integrations and testing — and contributes to design decisions and solution quality throughout the project lifecycle.
This role is ideal for a practitioner who has built and configured Adaptive Planning environments end‑to‑end and is ready to deepen their expertise across a variety of client contexts, including public sector and higher education engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and build Workday Adaptive Planning environments per approved design specifications, covering security, model structure, dimensions, sheets, and formulas.
- Own security configuration end‑to‑end — design and implement role‑based access, troubleshoot access issues, and maintain security documentation.
- Administer and manage tenant environments, including environment provisioning, deployment support, and coordination of release tasks.
- Build and support integrations — construct data loads and mappings, configure scheduling and monitoring, and lead troubleshooting of integration failures.
- Execute structured testing cycles (SIT and UAT) — author and execute test scripts, log defects, manage retest cycles, and produce reconciliation evidence.
- Support the Engagement Lead on solution design, client workshops, and delivery planning as needed.
- Maintain clear, thorough documentation throughout the engagement, including configuration workbooks, test evidence packages, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate direct, hands‑on experience in all of the following areas:
Workday Adaptive Planning Implementation
- Prior implementation experience with hands‑on build and configuration (not advisory‑only)
- Ability to independently configure model components — dimensions, levels, sheets, cube sheets, and formulas
Security Configuration
- Proven experience designing and implementing role‑based access and security structures
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot access and permission issues independently
Tenant Administration & Management
- Experience supporting multi‑environment deployments (development, staging, production)
- Familiarity with tenant release coordination and basic platform administration tasks
Integration Build & Support
- Hands‑on experience building data loads, field mappings, and scheduled integration jobs
- Proficiency troubleshooting integration failures — including data quality, mapping errors, and scheduling issues
Testing Execution
- Experience authoring and executing SIT and UAT test scripts
- Skilled in defect logging, retest cycle management, and producing reconciliation documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Public Sector or Higher Education implementation exposure — familiarity with the compliance, governance, and structural nuances of these markets
- Experience with workforce planning constructs such as positions and compensation drivers, and/or FP&A modules (capital planning, revenue planning, etc.)
- Strong documentation habits — a track record of producing clear configuration workbooks, test evidence packages, and operational runbooks without being prompted
Certifications
Workday Partner Certification is required.
Workday Adaptive Planning certification(s) are preferred.
