The Planet Group has an immediate need to assist our client in hiring an Workday Accounting Center Consultant. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity after 6 months, 100% remote (the client is in the central time zone).

Job Details/Project Details: Our client, a long-time Workday HCM and Financials customer, is preparing to implement Workday Accounting Center as part of a broader initiative to optimize and modernize their financial operations. They are seeking an experienced Workday Accounting Center Expert to lead and support the full implementation lifecycle—from planning and design through deployment and post-go-live stabilization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Workday Accounting Center SME and implementation lead.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand current financial data structures and reporting needs.
• Design the future-state architecture and data flows leveraging Workday Accounting Center best practices.
• Identify relevant use cases and develop a scalable Workday Accounting Center playbook for broader organizational use.
• Oversee and execute data ingestion, transformation logic, and ledger configuration.
• Drive knowledge transfer and enablement with internal team members.
• Provide post-go-live support, training, and documentation as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong Workday Financials experience, specifically Workday Accounting Center.
• 1+ full lifecycle implementation of Workday Accounting Center (from planning to go-live and stabilization).
• Deep understanding of data ingestion, journal transformation, and accounting rules framework within Workday.
• General Accounting experience
• Expertise in designing end-to-end data flow from external systems into Workday via Prism Analytics and Accounting Center.
• Strong experience developing use cases and future-state design documentation for financial data management.
• Proven ability to map subledger data to Workday Financials and define transformation logic.
• Track record of solutioning complex data and accounting scenarios based on business needs and best practices.
• Ability to guide teams on governance, data quality, and scalability considerations in Workday Accounting Center implementations.
• Experience creating and presenting a Workday Accounting Center implementation playbook or roadmap for long-term adoption.
• Proficient in Prism Analytics, Workday Core Connector Framework, and Workday Report Writer.
• Understanding of Workday Integration tools and ETL/data conversion best practices.
• Familiarity with external subledger systems (e.g., Salesforce, Coupa, legacy ERPs) and how they map into Workday.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and documentation capabilities.
• Knowledge Transfer
