Mott MacDonald in Raleigh, NC seeks a Traffic Engineer to drive project leadership in traffic and transportation. You will work with clients across the southeastern US, applying traffic engineering principles and coordinating with experts and consultants to deliver quality projects.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 8+ years of experience, and strong communication skills. PTOE is a plus, and experience with MicroStation and MS Office is desirable.

To continue to perform and grow our traffic design services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic Work Zone Traffic Control experience and knowledge. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:

• Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic and Transportation
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles and analyses required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
• Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of projects
• Demonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
• Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
• Deliver technical projects and reports

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

• BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent
• Professional registration preferred (not required)
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus
• 8+ years’ experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferred
• Work Zone Traffic Control plan and phasing development
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, MicroStation (ORD and/or v8i), etc.)
