Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Raleigh, NC is expanding its Traffic Engineering team and seeks a Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic signals experience. This role is based in our Raleigh office.

You will provide project leadership, apply traffic engineering principles to southeastern US projects, coordinate with subject matter experts, and deliver technical reports. The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience, PTOE a plus, and strong written and verbal communication; MS Office

Qualifications

• BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent.
• Professional registration preferred (not required).
• PTOE certification a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, MicroStation ORD and/or V8i).

Responsibilities

• Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic Engineering.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region.
• Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of transportation projects.
• Direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules.
• Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope.
• Deliver technical projects and reports.

To continue to perform and grow our traffic design services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic signals experience and knowledge. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:

• Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic Engineering
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
• Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of transportation projects
• Demonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
• Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
