Join the Austin Retina Associates team as an Ophthalmic Technician. You will assist physicians in delivering retina care, gather patient histories, perform vision testing, imaging, prepare exam rooms, document clinical notes, and support procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients through each step of their visit, providing compassionate presence during triage.
- Gather medical histories and perform vision tests and imaging.
- Prepare exam rooms and document clinical notes.
- Support physicians during treatments and procedures.
- Travel between clinics as needed; be prepared for early mornings, late evenings, or occasional weekend days.
Qualifications
- Schedule will vary based on assigned location, tasks, and physician.
- Occasional weekend work; generally Monday to Friday.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Hourly pay, FLSA non‑exempt, eligible for overtime.
Physical Demands and Requirements
Sitting up to 4 hours a day; standing and walking; talking and hearing both in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle and feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift to 25 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required include viewing multiple computer screens, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Viewing images and operating computer devices constantly.
