Job summary

Evans & Dixon LLC in Missouri is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate in our St. Louis office. The attorney will have 1–4+ years of experience and will work under experienced workers' compensation attorneys to develop litigation and administrative skills.

You will conduct legal research, interact with clients, and handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances while drafting pleadings and other documents. A durable work ethic and strong multitasking ability are essential.

Qualifications

• ABA-accredited law degree required.
• Active Missouri license or eligibility to become licensed in Missouri.
• Defense experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and staff as part of a team.
• Perform legal research and stay current with developments in workers' compensation law.
• Interact with clients on a daily basis and build connections with clients.
• Handle depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants and judges, and court appearances.
• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Missouri Workers' Compensation Associate in our St. Louis office. We are seeking an attorney with one to four plus years of experience who has great litigation and administrative skills and is eager to put those skills to work. As a Workers' Compensation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by highly experienced Workers' Compensation Attorneys. You will learn different aspects of workers' compensation, investigate medical research and records, and will be working with a team of attorneys on a multitude of cases. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.

What you'll do:

• Collaboration: You will have the opportunity to work side by side with highly experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants as a team.
• Legal Research: You will dive into the world of workers' compensation as you perform legal research and remain current with new developments in the law.
• Client Interaction: You will be given the opportunity to directly interact with clients on a daily basis, while creating your own unique connections with our clients.
• Attorney Responsibilities: You will be responsible for handling depositions, mediations, conferences between claimants & judges, and court appearances as you grow and evolve in your legal career.
• Create: You will work on drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.

Education and Qualifications:

• A law degree from an ABA accredited law school
