Job summary

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Smith Center is seeking a Wordpress Support-SW student worker to keep the site updated, ensure performance, and contribute to ongoing improvements.

You will update content, fix issues, assist the lead researcher, and collaborate with two fellow student staff, including handling simple tasks like coordinating lunches.

This is a Fall/Spring, temporary, part-time role offering $14.50/hour for returning students and $14.00/hour for new students; 5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Update the Smith Center website with new content and fix issues.

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The purpose of this role is to keep the Smith Center website updated, performing well, and continuously improving and to contribute to Smith Center work.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for:

• 1) Updating the Smith Center website with new content as provided and fixing any website issues;
• 2) Making continuous improvements in the website;
• 3) Supporting the lead researcher, including occasionally interviewing faculty;
• 4) Collaborating with two other student worker staff with Smith Center responsibilities, including picking up lunches;
• 5) Additional work as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications/Skills:

• 1) Strong skills in WordPress; training another student staff in WordPress.
• 2) Strong skills in web design principles;
• 3) Strong ability to collaborate with others as part of a team.
• 4) Strong sense of ownership over responsibilities.

This position will expand experience in professional work, both web design and website maintenance as well we a professional work setting. Employers highly value evidence of teamwork and collaboration.
