Job summary

Logoslabs is seeking a thoughtful Software Engineer to design, build, test, and maintain software that serves users and the business. You will work with engineers, product, design, and other functions to translate requirements into dependable solutions. You will write maintainable code, document key decisions, and consider performance, security, and accessibility.

You will participate through the full development lifecycle, learn new technologies as needed, and help improve development practices.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in professional, academic, or substantial personal projects.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Working understanding of data structures, algorithms, testing, and version control.
• Experience building or maintaining APIs, web apps, services, or production software.
• Familiarity with code review and automated testing.
• Understanding of secure and accessible development practices.
• Curiosity, reliability, attention to detail, and openness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features that address defined user and business needs.
• Collaborate with product and design partners to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and make informed trade-offs.
• Participate in planning, estimation, code reviews, and technical discussions, contributing ideas while remaining receptive to feedback.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code; document systems and decisions where useful; and follow established engineering standards.
• Diagnose defects and performance issues, determine their underlying causes, and deliver appropriate fixes.
• Help monitor software after release and use feedback or operational information to guide improvements.
• Identify technical debt and propose practical ways to improve reliability, security, accessibility, and development efficiency.
• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies promptly, and support a respectful, learning-focused team culture.
