WordPress Developer

Job brief

We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with the responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Strong knowledge of WordPress Platform
2. Expertise in WordPress Custom Theme Development and Plugin Development
3. Expertise in WP Plugin Integration (WooCommerce, WPML, Membership plugins etc)
4. Should understand how to make WordPress manageable from admin panel
5. Understands WP architecture and knows how to perform database and code optimization for WordPress
6. Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
7. Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL and AJAX
8. The ability to work on LAMP development environment
9. A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
10. Strong understanding of responsive web design techniques
11. Understanding of W3C Web Standards/Semantics and Accessibility Guidelines
12. An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time
13. Great attention to detail, highly organized
14. A positive and upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly
15. Minimum 2 years of experience in WordPress Development
16. Experience with BigCommerce, Magento, and Shopify (preferred)
17. Experience with ReactJS/AngularJS (preferred)
18. Excellent written and spoken English
19. The availability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST
20. The ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural environment

Your Duties & Tasks:

1. Developing and providing maintenance support for WordPress sites
2. Developing custom themes and plugins
3. Migrating websites from other platforms to WordPress
4. Integrating and setting up plugins like WPML, WooCommerce, Membership, etc.
5. Optimizing page speed of WordPress sites
6. Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in WordPress sites
7. Transforming complex PSD layouts into pixel-perfect presentation layer HTML5/CSS3 templates
8. Creating responsive website designs
9. Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN
10. Working under tight deadlines
11. Handling multiple projects at the same time
12. Producing high-quality work with a strong focus on detail
