Position Summary

New Breed is seeking an early to mid-level WordPress Developer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their web development career who has professional experience working with WordPress and is eager to continue building their technical skills in a collaborative, agency-style environment.

You’ll primarily focus on building and maintaining custom WordPress websites, collaborating with designers, strategists, and project managers to deliver responsive, accessible, and user-friendly digital experiences. While your main work will be in WordPress, you’ll also have opportunities to gain exposure to HubSpot CMS development over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain WordPress websites using custom themes, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and Elementor
• Translate design mockups into responsive, accessible front-end code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript
• Troubleshoot front-end bugs, CMS issues, and cross-browser compatibility challenges
• Collaborate with design, strategy, and project management teams throughout the development process
• Support basic HubSpot CMS development as cross-training opportunities arise
• Participate in QA, testing, deployments, and site launches
• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and performance optimization of client sites
  
  
  

Professional Development Milestones

Within 90 Days:

• Complete onboarding and training on New Breed’s tech stack, workflows, and coding standards
• Begin contributing to active WordPress projects with oversight and support
• Participate in code reviews and team knowledge sharing
  
  
  

Within 6 Months:

• Manage full page builds and smaller site projects independently
• Expand technical comfort across WordPress and begin supporting basic HubSpot CMS work
• Recommend minor template or process improvements as experience grows
  
  
  

Within 1 Year:

• Build and deploy full websites with minimal oversight
• Deepen skills in accessibility, performance optimization, SEO best practices, and cross-platform CMS development
• Serve as a resource for newer or peer-level team members
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional front-end development experience with a primary focus on WordPress
• Hands-on experience with custom WordPress theme development, including ACF and Elementor
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript fundamentals
• Ability to translate design files into fully responsive, accessible websites
• Familiarity with CMS administration, hosting environments, and site deployment processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to HubSpot CMS development (themes, modules, templates)
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Knowledge of SEO, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimization best practices
• Basic design skills to refine layouts or enhance user experiences

Work Environment

This role offers remote, hybrid, or in-office work arrangements based out of our Burlington, VT headquarters at Hula Lakeside. Team members are expected to work standard business hours aligned to Eastern Time, with occasional flexibility for collaboration.

While travel is not a regular requirement, we create intentional opportunities to participate in company gatherings or work-related events a few times per year.
