Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is seeking a part-time Teaching Artist for the Woodwind Chamber Ensemble Program at the Preparatory School. You will coach high school-level ensembles, select repertoire, and collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator to support student growth.

The role emphasizes ensemble discipline, breath control, and musical independence, with duties including goal-setting, staff collaboration, and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated training in Woodwind Performance, Pedagogy, or Music Education.
• Knowledge of diverse woodwind chamber literature.
• Willingness to collaborate with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coach trios, quartets, and other woodwind ensembles for high school/advanced students.
• Select and adapt chamber repertoire with Curriculum Coordinator.
• Coach chamber performance skills: breath control, intonation, balance, blend, voicing.
• Collaborate with LCE Preparatory School staff to set goals and plan activities.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Participate in performances and community engagement events.
• Assist with recruitment, auditions, and registration support.
• Follow curriculum and uphold positive behavior plans.
