Job summary

Brown‑Forman is seeking a Bottling Line Operator to run all equipment on the bottling line and respond promptly to safety, quality, and operational issues per plant procedures.

You will communicate with supervisors and quality teams, support line changeovers, prepare orders and samples, perform packaging and forklift tasks, and help with depalletizing and warehouse moves. The role requires physical stamina, adherence to PPE, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong attendance and work performance.
  • Ability to do frequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching upward/downward, crouching, and ascending/descending stairs, ramps, and ladders.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry weight of at least 50 pounds.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Adherence to PPE requirements, including wearing steel-toed safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair or beard net, and cut-resistant gloves.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bottling line equipment and respond to safety, quality, and operational issues per plant procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors, quality teams, peers, plant leadership, and contractors to maintain safe production.
  • Support line changeovers and adjust bottling line equipment as required.
  • Perform off-line bottling work such as Buy the Barrel operations, order and sample preparation, and package rework.
  • Assist with depalletizing, uncaser operations, filling, inspection, packing, palletizing, and forklift operation.
  • Load/unload shipments and move materials in the warehouse for staging and operations.

Meaningful Work From Day One

This role operates all equipment on the bottling line; responding promptly to safety, quality, and operational issues in alignment with plant procedures. It requires effective communication with supervisors, quality teams, peers, plant leadership, and contractors to maintain safe, efficient production. Responsibilities also include performing off‑line bottling work such as Buy the Barrel operations, order and sample preparation, and package rework. The position supports all bottling house functions, including depalletizing, uncaser operations, filling, inspection, packing, palletizing, and forklift operation.

What You Can Expect
  • Manually remove cases of glass from pallets and place onto line
  • Manually pack bottles into cases
  • Verify accuracy of materials against process orders
  • Verify video jet number against process order and record on log sheet
  • Visually inspect cases for defects and remove defective cases from the bottling line, repositioning when required
  • Immediately notify mechanic, supervisor and other team members of line problems
  • Monitor dumping of empty glass from cases and inspect for glass defects
  • Visually inspect color of whiskey, label placement, video jet on cases and government panel application for all products
  • Clean up broken glass as required
  • Participate in line changeovers and adjust bottling line equipment as required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Operate forklift and other PIE as needed to load/unload shipments and move materials in the warehouse for staging and operations
