Job summary

Exegistics in Jeffersonville, IN is seeking a Wood Veneer Inspector to ensure veneer sheets meet quality standards before they move into production. You will inspect sheets for defects, identify imperfections, and perform repairs with wood putty and a hand sander, acting as a quality gatekeeper for veneer specifications and wood grain.

The role requires strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or quality inspection is preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; use hand tools including a hand sander.

Responsibilities

• Inspect wood veneer sheets for defects, damage, and specification compliance.
• Identify knots, blemishes, grain inconsistencies, and size variations.
• Repair damaged or defective areas using wood putty and a hand sander.
• Evaluate completed work to ensure compliance with work instructions and quality standards.
• Verify veneer matches required wood species and grain patterns.
• Maintain production levels while ensuring quality standards are met.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist in other departments as needed.
