Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to lead daily operations at the wood manufacturing facility, driving safety, quality, throughput, and cost control. You will partner with the Plant Manager, oversee shift supervisors, and coordinate cross‑functional activities to sustain peak plant performance.

This role demands hands‑on leadership, lean manufacturing experience, and the ability to drive CAPA, monitor OEE, and optimize manpower.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal degree requirements.
• 5+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a direct supervisory or multi-department managerial role.
• Direct experience in wood manufacturing, building materials, or heavy industrial production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily plant operations across shifts and departments to hit production, yield, and safety milestones.
• Monitor real-time metrics (OEE, throughput, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency) and take corrective actions when bottlenecks occur.
• Coordinate maintenance with maintenance leadership to optimize machine availability, schedule preventive maintenance, and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate material movement, inventory tracking, and usage variance with supply chain and staging teams to keep production lines running without delay.
