Job summary

Columbia Forest Products is seeking a Boiler Operator (2nd shift) to run two wood-fired boilers on a 4-days-on, 4-days-off schedule at our Newport, VT facility. You will monitor water level, pressure, temperature, and steam load, and help move wood fuel from storage to the boiler while performing weekly maintenance and tube cleaning.

The role requires adherence to detailed instructions, strong safety awareness in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and teamwork to ensure optimum boiler

Qualifications

• Successful candidates will operate on a 4-days-on, 4-days-off work schedule.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in operation of two wood-fired boilers.
• Deep understanding of standard boiler operating procedures.
• Ability to monitor water level, pressure, temperature and steam load.

Responsibilities

• Monitor key indicators such as water level, pressure, temperature and steam load.
• Transfer wood fuel from storage to the boiler and perform weekly maintenance.
• Clean tubes and ashes as part of routine maintenance.
• Adhere to written and verbal job instructions and provide feedback as needed.
