Job summary

Specialized Packaging Group is seeking a Wood Assembler in Newark, CA to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on assembling wood components and finished products according to work orders, drawings, and quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking or assembly, be proficient with hand and power tools, and show strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, woodworking, carpentry, or assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read measurements and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wood crates, or other manufactured products according to specifications.
• Read and interpret work orders, assembly instructions, diagrams, and basic drawings.
• Measure, cut, drill, sand, fasten, and fit wood components as required.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely, including drills, saws, sanders, nail guns, and fastening equipment.
• Inspect materials and completed assemblies for defects, accuracy, and quality.
• Make adjustments or corrections to ensure proper fit and finish.
• Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing guidelines.
• Report material shortages, equipment issues, defects, or production problems to the supervisor.
