Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Specialty Nurse Educator for Women’s Services to influence patient care through collaborative leadership and participation in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

The role focuses on developing evidence-based educational programs, guiding staff competency, and aligning practice with regulatory standards across divisions. A BSN is required with preferred MSN and significant clinical education experience, including travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Master's degree in nursing preferred
• 2+ years clinical education experience required
• 3+ years of experience in acute care hospital required
• 3+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred
• Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state of practice
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required
• Specialty certification as recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center required
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Provides and assist with orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Conducts orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment.
• Identifies learning needs of the identified specialty staff and develops activities to address deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Plans educational content with learner engagement.
• Assesses practice gaps.
• Collaborates with the clinical education team to evaluate and adjust educational programs based on evaluations and feedback.
• Participates in lifelong learning and uses the novice to expert continuum when developing staff.
• Monitors practices for compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices and communicates key performance indicators for the clinical education service line within their division.
