Job summary

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball program to assist the head coach with day-to-day operations, practice prep, and game management. This role reports to the head coach and involves coordinating travel and administrative duties.

You will support recruiting efforts, supervise student-athlete academics, and help develop players while engaging with campus partners and boosters.

Qualifications

Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and game play.
Familiarity with NCAA coach rules and testing requirements.
Experience coaching basketball at verifiable level.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of practice and game preparation as directed by head coach.
Overseeing all aspects of game day operations; coordinate all travel operations; manage admin duties.
Assist in recruitment of players by identifying talent and communicating with prospective student athletes; coordinate campus visits.
Responsible for academic supervision of players and communication with academic advisor.
Assist in academic accountability for student athletes with measurable outcomes.
Build relationships with players, faculty, staff, donors and community; liaison between players and head coach.
Game film coordinator; breakdown and analysis for education sessions.
Assist in scheduling practices and coordinating with opposing teams.
Oversee social media content for women’s basketball platforms.
