Job summary

Kith is seeking a Technical Designer for the Women’s knitwear, cut & sew and active categories to join the team at its Williamsburg, Brooklyn HQ. The role requires 3–5 years of apparel technical design experience, strong garment-construction knowledge, and alignment with the brand identity.

Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn Status: Full-time / 100% on-site Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

Position Summary

The Kith Women’s technical design team is looking for a Technical Designer for the knitwear, cut & sew and active part of the business to join their team. This individual must have 3-5 years of experience in apparel technical design, be knowledgeable of the brand identity, and be willing to work on site 5 days a week. They are a team player, accountable, highly organized and possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of the business in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of garment production to ensure high quality and functional products.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially in fit and construction precision
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Respond quickly to change with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new ways to work and achieve objectives.
  • Strong leadership within live fit sessions & other cross-functional team meetings
  • Clearly document fitting comments with actionable pattern amendment instruction.
  • Management of grading and tolerance rules.
  • Communicate directly with overseas suppliers to troubleshoot pattern corrections and construction related issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed tech packs with precise specifications and construction details.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role (including multi-product experience).
  • Exceptional understanding of garment construction, quality control.
  • Experience of working directly with manufactures.
  • A positive attitude towards challenges and implement solutions.
  • Strong time-management skills; able to prioritize tasks & be flexible.
  • Clear concise communication is a must both written and verbally.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet calendar deadlines.
  • Skills Extremely organized, detail oriented, and analytical.
  • Contributes positively to team dynamic.
  • Professional, mature person with command presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of pattern making and garment construction is beneficial.
  • Highly knowledgeable of construction and experienced in the following product categories: cut & sew tops, fleece tops and bottoms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Must be flexible to adapt to these changing business needs or special projects.
