Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a PRN nurse to manage women’s services activities and nursing resources in the Family Birth Center. The role focuses on coordinating care for women and newborns, ensuring patient safety and high-quality outcomes.

The position requires an RN license and BLS certification; ACLS/NRP/PALS credentials are a plus. This per diem role supports a team dedicated to family-centered, culturally sensitive care.

Qualifications

• RN license required for practice in Wisconsin (or compact state).
• Current BLS HCP certification required.
• ACLS/ALS and neonatal resuscitation credentials preferred.
• PALS/NRP certifications optional but advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for women, newborns and families within the birth center.
• Manage nursing workflow and staffing to ensure safe, evidence‑based care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans to meet outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and support staff to optimize care.
• Model culturally sensitive care and ethical decision making.
• Provide health teaching to patients and families.
