Job summary

Community & Family Resources is seeking a Women’s Halfway House Counselor to provide substance use counseling and case management for residents of the Bernie Lorenz Recovery halfway house. Duties include intake, assessments, treatment planning, and coordination with DOC and community services.

The candidate must obtain CADC certification within 12 months and hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in social/behavioral sciences, with at least three years of relevant counseling experience.

Qualifications

• CADC certification must be secured within 12 months of hire.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in social/behavioral sciences or equivalent with coursework meeting certification standards.
• At least three years of full-time substance use and/or gambling treatment counselor experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Halfway House applicants for appropriateness for program.
• Accepts or denies applicants for entry into the Halfway House program.
• Conducts individual assessment sessions and psychosocial histories.
• Develops and coordinates treatment plans with clients and referral sources.
• Coordinates with Department of Corrections on probation/parole requirements.
• Maintains client and pre-client case records and facilitates groups.
