Qualifications

  • BSN is REQUIRED.
  • MSN/MS or DNP – HIGHLY PREFERRED.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical WOCN experience, preferably in an acute care or community hospital setting.
  • Experience in program development, clinical education, or nursing leadership – PREFERRED.
  • Experience with NDNQI data submission, clinical quality registries, or value-based care reporting.
  • Experience in safety-net or community health environments.
  • Current, unrestricted RN licensure in NY (or applicable state).
  • APRN/NP licensure – HIGHLY PREFERRED.
  • DNP or PhD with informatics focus welcome.
  • CWOCN or equivalent certification (CWON/COCN/CCCN) required; if none at hire, must obtain within 12 months.
  • NP certification – PREFERRED.
  • Membership in the WOCN Society.
  • Clinical leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration experience.
  • CMS Conditions of Participation knowledge and Joint Commission standards awareness.
  • In-depth knowledge of pressure injury prevention and wound healing physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical expertise and act as a clinical resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based WOCN programs across the continuum of care.
  • Lead staff education, program development, and nursing leadership activities.
  • Consult hospital leadership to improve patient outcomes and reduce hospital-acquired conditions.
  • Partner across departments to promote a culture of nursing excellence and continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure familiarity with CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
