Highmark Health is seeking a hospital-based Wound Ostomy Nurse to serve as a clinical resource for acute and rehabilitative care of patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence disorders. The role encompasses direct patient care, consultation, education, research, and administration within the Allegheny Health Network.

The ideal candidate holds a PA RN license (or multi-state via eNLC), CWOCN certification, and 2–4 years of related nursing experience; a BSN is required and an MSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or relevant experience.
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR current multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Preferred MSN.
• Two to four years of recent, relevant nursing experience.
• Current CWOCN certification.

Responsabilités

• Utilizes the nursing process to direct or deliver care for WOC needs.
• Provides consultation for wound, ostomy, and continence issues and develop care plans.
• Leads education for staff on skin care, wound management, and ostomy care.
• Marks stoma site preoperatively and educates patients and families.
• Collaborates with leadership to establish protocols supporting best WOC practices.
• Maintains data collection and quality indicators related to wound care and ostomy services.
